When a building is being demolished, all water service lines must be disconnected. The following are prerequisites for disconnecting the water service line permanently:
  • DEP must ensure that a field inspection of the disconnection is performed
  • DEP permits must be secured in advance
  • The connection on the city water main must be destroyed permanently
  • The water service line disconnection project must meet DEP codes
**The final reading of the water meter must be submitted to the DEP so that a final and accurate bill can be generated.
